HeRO River Rangers

HeRO River Rangers are the eyes and ears of the river. Our work focuses on collecting information and identifying opportunities to improve the health of the river and its tributaries. If you regularly walk along our rivers and streams - or anywhere in our watershed - spend your free time in a kayak, or just like to keep an eye on things, you may already be a River Ranger! With a little training and a spiffy HeRO T-shirt to identify you as part of the team, you can choose to help us with:

  • Pollution detection and reporting

  • Stormwater runoff problem spots

  • Identification of high pet-waste/animal waste areas

  • Streambank erosion and vegetation mapping

  • Water quality monitoring... and more
